What is funded by QCoast2100?

One, some or all stages of a Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategy (CHAS) and /or pilot projects. The Program does not fund detailed design or capital works. Click here for more details.

What is the ‚Äčamount of funding available?

A funding allocation of $4 million per annum for 3 years ($12 million in total) is available. A maximum project value (or sum of all projects undertaken by a single council for the entire Program duration) is capped to approximately $500,000 (excl. GST). Local governments may be granted more funding subject to their project proposal and the Board’s discretion.

When is the first call for proposals and what is the due date for a funding application?

Following the official launch of QCoast2100 on 2 June 2016, letters were sent to all eligible councils with an invitation to submit grant funding applications/proposals. The funding is non-competitive and is open for applications for the entire duration of the Program. 

What information do I need to get started with the funding application?

Is council required to match the approved funding amount?

No. However, councils are required to provide a co-contribution (cash only). The co-contribution value for each council can be obtained from the Program Coordinator.

What type of support is available to assist councils in the development of grant funding applications?

A Project Advisor is available to provide advise and guidance in scoping project proposals and addressing any queries from councils. Please contact the Program Coordinator should you require the assistance of the Project Advisor. If the Project Advisor is unable to resolve council's query/concern, the Program Coordinator will refer to the Expert Panel for advice.

What is the selection criteria for grant funding applications?

 All applications will be assessed on meeting the Funding Application Guidelines and the Minimum Standards & Guidelines.

What is the process for assessing grant funding applications?

The Project Advisor will assess all applications and provide recommendations to the Program Board.

How soon will applicants be notified on the status of their applications?

All applications will be notified within 30 days following their submissions.The Program Coordinator and Project Advisor will liaise with council if any additional information is required for submission to the Board.
