The QCoast2100 program is a Queensland-wide initiative that helps coastal councils in planning for and implementing actions to address the long-term impacts of coastal hazards such as sea-level rise, coastal erosion, and storm tide inundation.

Funded by the Queensland Government and delivered by the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ), QCoast2100 is designed to be a collaborative program. The QCoast2100 program that provides funding, technical guidance, tools, and resources that support local governments to develop long-term, evidence-based Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategies (CHAS) and subsequently implement actions identified through their CHAS.

With Queensland’s coastal areas facing increasing risks from a changing climate, QCoast2100 empowers councils to take a proactive approach to climate adaptation. By fostering local leadership and community engagement, the program ensures that coastal adaptation planning reflects both scientific understanding and local values—building resilience for today and generations to come.
