Minimum Standards and Guidelines (MS&G) Information Sessions 2016

Ahead of QCoast2100’s formal launch on 2 June 2016, the Program’s Expert Panel developed Minimum Standards and Guidelines (MS&G)(PDF, 5MB) that will underpin the development of councils’ project proposals.

In mid to late May 2016, the LGAQ conducted five (5) information sessions to present the draft MS&G to coastal councils in Queensland. The purpose of the information sessions was to provide an opportunity for councils, key experts and consultants to come together to discuss and gain a better understanding of the MS&G.

Details of the five (5) information sessions conducted are provided in table below. The final information session in Brisbane was recorded and can be assessed here.

Participation for the sessions comprised elected members and staff from coastal councils from various departments such as engineering, planning, community engagement and disaster management as well as private consultants.  All five (5) sessions were well received and attended by 89 participants, with engaging discussions about the technical contents of the document as well as concerns and council specific issues.
