QCoast2100 Knowledge and Information Sharing Forum #9
QCoast2100 Knowledge and Information Sharing Forum – June 2025
The 9th QCoast2100 Knowledge and Information Sharing Forum was successfully held on Tuesday, 3 June 2025, in Surfers Paradise. Hosted by the City of Gold Coast, the event welcomed over 60 participants from local councils, state government agencies, academia, and the private sector—all united by a shared commitment to building more resilient and adaptive coastal communities.
The program featured a series of insightful presentations, case studies, and discussions exploring a wide range of coastal hazard adaptation topics. Participants shared approaches for integrating Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategies (CHAS) into planning schemes, reflected on the progress and lessons from their CHAS implementation, and showcased innovative planning and technical initiatives.
The forum also highlighted Victoria’s coastal adaptation journey, illustrating how the QCoast2100 program helped inform the state's own approach. The day concluded with a meaningful conversation on the importance of engaging Traditional Owners in coastal planning and resilience efforts.
The forum featured the following presentations from participating organisations:
