KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATION SHARING WEBINAR #17

Back

COUNCIL & ACTIVE CONSULTANT EVENT - On Wednesday the 24th of April 2024, the LGAQ will be hosting the the seventeenth in a series of QCoast2100 Knowledge and Information Sharing Webinars. Designed to be an interactive experience for QCoast2100 Council Leads, it provides an opportunity to discuss different issues and approaches in CHAS implementation for cross-council learning.

This webinar will feature Heidi Thomson and James Caffery from Eurobodalla Shire Council (NSW) speaking about the Wagonga Inlet Living Shoreline (WILS) Project.

The WILS Project is a collaborative project between Eurobodalla Shire Council, NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) Fisheries, The Nature Conservancy Australia (TNC) and the Australian Government.

Located in the small town of Narooma on the New South Wales south coast, the WILS project is an award-winning initiative creating a living, breathing barrier against erosion and rising sea levels. The project uses native plants, saltmarsh habitats and oyster reefs to secure and stabilise 400 metres of the bank along the foreshore, and diffuse potentially eroding wave energy.

Please note: This session is for council officers only. Please contact Emma_Schofield@lgaq.asn.au for further information.
