The 8th QCoast2100 Knowledge and Information Sharing Forum will be held as part of the 2024 Coastal Leaders Forum in Townsville on Tuesday 6th of August 2024. This years forum will focus on strategic risk mitigation and resilience activities that create stronger, safer and more resilient Queensland Communities.

Our continued objective is to bring together council officers, government representatives, industry professionals and academia, to hear from State departments, learn from industry professionals and build networks to develop a community of practice between all stakeholders.

We will start the day by hearing from the Queensland Reconstruction Authority followed by presentations from the Department of Environment, Science and Innovation speaking about the State-wide bathymetry project and hear the latest on the CoastAdapt website and resources updates. As always, the day will feature a wide variety of council showcases to learn about projects are being implemented across the state. 

The Coastal Leaders Forum will be held from Monday 5 to Tuesday 6 August 2024 at the The Ville Resort-Casino Sir Leslie Thiess Dr, Townsville further information can be found here

Day 1 of the Coastal Leaders Forum (5 August 2024) will feature a site visit to the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS), where delegates will be hosted by AIMS Chief Executive, Professor Selina Stead, and Networking Evening hosted by Energy Queensland. Relevant State Ministers, Shadow Ministers and Directors-General have also been invited to provide updates at the forum (Day 2). All QCoast delegates are welcome to attend the site visit (free) and council officers are invited to attend the networking event (paid) these options will be available to select in the QCoast registration link.
